Pepsi's "Loot Application" is the first location-based service for the iPhone to acknowledge and reward customer brand-loyalty. Users are shown all the restaurants found on a map of their area that serve Pepsi drinks. Customers can use their smartphones to check in to these restaurants, for which they receive loyalty "loot" points. These points can be used to download music for free. Participating restaurants have the opportunity to entice potential customers on-the-go with location-based offers.
